The CR blog has posted images of the USA Today redesign by Wolf Olins. The identity reminds us of WeTransfer, Kickstarter, and other fast emerging digital brands. A paper that looks like a blog. Print and web design are converging! The digital and print dialectic is negotiating a synthesis.
It’s interesting to compare this to recent discussion of apple’s ‘skeumorphs’ (we agree with the haters). Is there a future in which high tech looks lo tech and lo tech looks high tech? Perhaps we’re already in it.
