We are so awash with food markets in London that popping down to somewhere like Borough Market at the weekend just to drool over the raclette toasted sandwiches feels fairly routine.

On a trip to Copenhagen last week we were surprised to find that local food markets and health food shops are actually a relatively new concept – they’re such health driven countries we expected them to be common place.
Torvehallerne in the centre of Copenhagen is one of the first – already booming with yummy mummies and affluent city workers grabbing a light bite to eat. With all their design heritage it’s unsurprising that when they do it, they do it in style!
