With the storm(troop)ing success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and the impending release of Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad , we’ve spotted the rapid rise of brands taking visual inspiration from super heroes of the past and commanders of the future.

From Louis Vuitton’s newest campaign starring ‘Lightning’ from cult game Final Fantasy, Chanel’s 2016 Spring catwalk sporting blue superhero masks, and Cover Girl’s Star Wars collection questioning ‘Which side are you on?’, the visual language of our comic book heroes is having a moment. This trend spans luxury fashion, high street beauty and even hair – with even Kylie Jenner’s green hair borrowing from the world of the Marvel supervillain.

Blurring the boundaries between reality and make believe, brands taking visual inspiration from this out-of-this-world trend show their cultural radar is well and truly switched on.
